We recognize and respect the importance of protecting the personal information entrusted to us. We are committed to ensuring that the collection, processing, storage, and use of personal data is conducted in a fair, lawful, transparent, and secure manner, in compliance with applicable data protection laws. This Privacy Policy describes how MaMitra Hospital App (hereinafter referred to as the “Application ”) created by ARMMAN ( hereinafter referred to as the “Service Provider ”) collects, processes, uses, stores, and protects personal information. The Application is a digital tool intended solely for use by authorized hospital supervisors across BMC hospitals to support and strengthen maternal healthcare services. It enables the registration of pregnant women during their antenatal care (ANC) visits, assists in tracking high-risk conditions, and captures key health parameters throughout the pregnancy period. The Application is not intended for direct use by pregnant women. All personal data is collected by trained health workers who are authorized to use the App. Prior to data collection, informed consent is obtained from the end users (pregnant women) through a duly signed paper form and a digital One-Time Password (OTP) verification linked to their ARM number. This consent includes an explicit declaration authorizing the collection, use, and processing of their personal information for the purpose of enabling and delivering healthcare services. By adhering to this Policy, we affirm our commitment to safeguarding the personal data entrusted to us and ensuring that it is handled in accordance with the highest standards of data privacy and security.
The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as:
- Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address );
- The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages;
- The time spent on the Application;
- The operating system you use on your mobile device;
The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.
Purpose of Information Collected
The information collected through the Application is used primarily to enable the registration of pregnant women during their antenatal care (ANC) visits, track high-risk conditions, monitor key health parameters throughout pregnancy, and facilitate the delivery of maternal healthcare services. The Service Provider may use the information provided to communicate with you or your authorized representative from time to time . This includes sending important healthcare-related information, operational updates, maternal healthcare and preventive care messaging which requires notices , and other administrative communications necessary to ensure the effective functioning of the Application and associated services. Information collected may also be used to comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including responding to lawful requests from government authorities or public health bodies. This ensures that the Application’s operations remain in accordance with the law and public health mandates. In addition, the information may be used to monitor and evaluate the performance of the maternal healthcare program, improve service delivery, and enhance the quality and effectiveness of healthcare services provided through the App. With appropriate consent where required, the Service Provider may also use the information to inform you about relevant programs, healthcare initiatives, or promotions that may be of interest. You may opt out of receiving such communications by contacting us as detailed in this Privacy Policy. All personal information collected will be securely stored and retained solely for the purposes outlined above and in accordance with applicable data protection laws. The Service Provider does not use the information for unrelated purposes without obtaining the necessary consents as required by law.
Third Party Access
Only aggregated and anonymized data is periodically transmitted to third party to assist the Service Provider in improving the Application and enhancing the services offered. Such aggregated data does not contain any personally identifiable information. The Service Provider may share personal information with third parties strictly in the manner described in this Privacy Policy. Disclosure to third parties is limited to the extent necessary for them to perform specific services on behalf of the Service Provider. In doing so, the Service Provider discloses only the portion of information that is essential for the fulfillment of those services. The Service Provider makes commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that such third parties maintain the confidentiality of any information shared with them and handle it in accordance with applicable industry standards and data protection obligations. Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. - Google Play Services The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
- when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
- with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
Consent and Opt-Out Rights
By installing or accessing the Application and using the Application you agree to be bound by and expressly consent to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. You hereby acknowledge and agree that by mere installation and use of the Application, you expressly consent to the Service Provider’s collection, receipt, storage, processing, disclosure, transfer, dealing with and handling of the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You understand that while your account is active to use the Application, the Service Provider, its affiliates and third parties engaged by it, may retain your information, and use it in any manner in order to comply with its contractual obligations and other obligations under applicable law. In the event that you wish to withdraw your consent to the Service Provider’s collection, receipt, storage, processing, disclosure, transfer, dealing with and handling of the information you may do so by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
Data Retention Policy
The Service Provider will retain the personal data provided by Users for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including the ongoing operation of the Application, and for a reasonable period thereafter as required for legal, regulatory, or operational purposes. If you wish to request the deletion of personal data that you have provided through the Application, you may do so by contacting the Service Provider at tech@armman.org. Upon receiving such a request, the Service Provider will review and respond within a reasonable timeframe and, subject to any legal obligations requiring continued retention, will take appropriate steps to delete the requested data securely. Please note that certain information may need to be retained even after a deletion request, where required by applicable law or for legitimate business purposes, such as record-keeping, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.
Children
The Application is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age and does not knowingly solicit data from or market services to children. In the event that the Service Provider becomes aware that personal information has been collected from a child under the age of 13 without verified parental consent, such information will be promptly deleted from the Service Provider’s records and servers. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the Application, please contact the Service Provider at tech@armman.org. Upon receipt of such a request, the Service Provider will take all necessary steps to investigate and delete the child’s personal information as required.
Security
The Service Provider has effectively assessed the security threats and risks and implemented managerial, technical, organizational, administrative, and physical measures to help ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk to the personal information we collect, use, disclose and process. These measures are aimed at ensuring the ongoing integrity and confidentiality of personal information. All necessary managerial technical, physical, and operational controls are established and governed, including regular security and privacy risk assessment and treatment, physical and logical access controls, surveillance, encryption of critical and sensitive data, secure communications and so on.
Changes
This Privacy Policy is subject to change from time to time at the Service Provider’s own sole discretion. You hereby acknowledge and agree that your continued use of the Application constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Policy and any updates hereto. If at any time the Service Provider wishes to alter this Privacy Policy, the changes made will be posted at this URL for you to be aware of the sensitive personal data or information that is collected, received, stored, processed, disclosed, transferred, dealt with, and handled by it. This privacy policy is effective as of 2025-04-24.
Redressal of Grievances
If at any time you have questions or concerns with respect to the Privacy Policy, please feel free to e- mail the Service Provider at tech@armman.org. If at any time you have grievances or complaints with regard to the collection, receipt, storage, processing, disclosure, transfer, dealing with and handling of your data in a time bound manner or otherwise, you may contact the “Grievance Officer” of the Service Provider i.e. Vaijayanti Birwadkar at vaijayanti@armman.org, who shall redress your grievance/complaint within 1 (one) month from the date of receipt of the grievance/complaint. While registering a grievance/complaint, you are kindly requested to quote your account details for the Service Provider’s reference to enable it to effectively resolve your grievance/complaint.
Governing Agreements and Law
Notwithstanding anything contained herein, this Privacy Policy is subject to any and all agreements that you execute with the Service Provider and shall further be governed by and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of India.
